"Man is not an animal." The Weinstein Co. has released one final trailer for P.T. Anderson's The Master, which we've teased with clips and teasers and theatrical trailers previously. The Master, starring Philip Seymour Hoffman, Amy Adams and Joaquin Phoenix, hits theaters in mid-September, and they're down to the last few weeks, with a number of festival premieres ahead. This final trailer doesn't run a full two minutes, but does feature Phoenix's intense hand-rapping that I first saw in the Cannes footage, and it plays perfect. One final build up to remind you the next stop - is to catch this in theaters as soon as possible.

Paul Thomas Anderson (the man behind films like Boogie Nights, Magnolia, There Will Be Blood) wrote and directed The Master. The film follows Lancaster Dodd (Philip Seymour Hoffman) a charismatic leader who creates a new religion in the 1950's and his main disciple (Joaquin Phoenix), an alcoholic drifter named Freddie Sutton who becomes Dodd's closest follower, only to later break away from his teachings. The Master was secretly shown in 70mm at the Aero this month and will hit theaters starting September 14th.
