Last year Christian Bale went overseas for the Chinese war drama
Flowers of War, and while the film didn't get the US reception it deserved, that hasn't stopped
Adrien Brody and
Tim Robbins from trying the same thing. Back to 1942, from
Aftershock director
Feng Xiaogang, is an adaptation of a novel by Liu Zhenyun starring
Xu Fan (
Aftershock) and
Zhang Hanyu (
Assembly) with two of Hollywood's famous faces. It's interesting to see Brody head back to World War II after his Oscar winning turn in
The Pianist, but this drama is a little different. If it's good, hopefully it'll get some attention in the US.

Here's the international trailer for Feng Xiaogang's
