Briefly: Paramount has chosen the date for the return of Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan -
Christmas 2013. Its been confirmed by Paramount and Skydance that the still-untitled
Jack Ryan movie, being directed by
Kenneth Branagh, is set for release December 25th, 2013 late next year. Starring as the new Jack Ryan is
Chris Pine (aka Captain Kirk), joined by a cast including Branagh as a financial antagonist, plus
Kevin Costner in a mentor role, and
Keira Knightley as the main love interest. Shooting is supposed to start soon in London. This contemporized prequel story follows Ryan before he joined the CIA, and underwent numerous script revisions before finally getting the greenlight with Branagh. We'll follow this one to release.
