Despite a cameo in
The Tooth Fairy in 2010, we haven't seen
Billy Crystal in a live-action film since
Analyze That in 2002, but now the actor is back with another sparsely seen popular talent from the 80's and 90's as he joins
Bette Midler in
Parental Guidance. The new comedy from family filmmaker
Andy Fickman looks like it'll hit with the older crowd looking for something to do during the holidays when it hits theaters this Christmas, but it feels like a pretty lifeless family comedy. I don't mind seeing Crystal and Midler back on the big screen, but I just wish it was with some better material.

Here's the first trailer for Andy Fickman's
Parental Guidance originally from
Yahoo:
When their daughter goes away for work, grandparents Artie and Diane (Billy Crystal and Bette Midler) find themselves having to take care of three grandkids using 21st century methods, though they soon resorts to an old-school style of parenting. Marisa Tomei also stars in the film from Andy Fickman (
You Again, The Game Plan, Race to Witch Mountain) from a story written by Billy Crystal and a script from Lisa Addario and Joy Syracuse (the duo behind
Surf's Up). The film hits theaters on
December 25th for Christmas.
