The 26-year-old man, Ig Perrish (Radcliffe) finds that his girlfriend Merrin (Temple) has been raped and murdered, and he's the lead suspect. And if that wasn't enough, he discovers horns growing out of his head that grant him the power to make people confess their sins, which comes in handy as he searches for his girlfriend's killer and prepares for revenge. The press release says the "rock and roll infused dark fantasy explores why bad things happen to good people, and what the loss of true love can do to a man."
Minghella will play a public defender named Lee Tourneau, but it's not clear what roles Garner and Anderson will have in the adaptation. The film is slated to start shooting later this year, and is currently trying to lock down international buyers at the Toronto International Film Festival this week. Minghella had a small but solid role in The Social Network while Temple has seen some darker material lately in Killer Joe. Meanwhile, Garner is fresh off the sadly canceled TV series "Pan-Am" along with Anderson who also had his show "The River" on ABC canceled. Having this young cast taking on a twisted story like this sounds fresh and better than another remake or sequel, so count me in.
