Details are scarce on who is playing who (we know Waltz is the lead, but that's about it), but now Voltage Pictures (via The Playlist) has revealed the official logline:
An eccentric and reclusive computer genius plagued with existential angst works on a mysterious project aimed at discovering the purpose of existence—or the lack thereof—once and for all.
Sounds like exactly the kind of wild, reality-bending, exploratory work we expect from Gilliam. Here's hoping this one has more in common with The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus than any of Gilliam's other recent filmography, which has been spotty to say the least. Production on this one starts later this month, and is scheduled to be a quick shoot, so we'll likely be hearing more about this one sooner rather than later. We'll next see Thewlis on screen playing the villain in Red 2, the sequel to the geriatric action star comedy starring Bruce Willis and Helen Mirren, while Swinton will be seen in Bong Joon-ho's new film Snowpiercer alongside Chris Evans and Alison Pill sometime in 2013.
