New Trailer for 4K Restored 'Lawrence of Arabia' Re-Release

Lawrence of Arabia Trailer
"They hunger for Arabia..." This year is the 50th anniversary of David Lean's unforgettable masterpiece Lawrence of Arabia, and Sony Pictures has been restoring and touring the epic around for everyone to experience. Earlier this summer, the Academy hosted the premiere of Arabia's 4K digital restoration of the director's cut. This fall it's getting a massive worldwide re-release, hitting theaters in the US on October 4th, and will play on TCM before hitting Blu-Ray in November. Empire has unveiled a brand new trailer for the "4K restored, 227-minute" movie and it's a wonderful reminder of how truly grand and magnificent this is.

Here's the full trailer for the 4K restoration of David Lean's Lawrence of Arabia, originally via Empire:

Sony's preservationist on the Lawrence of Arabia restoration: "We wanted to return this film to as pristine a condition as possible to honor its anniversary release. The original negative was seriously damaged in a number of ways, some problems dating from the original release and some accumulated over the years. Until now, we did not have the tools available to address these issues. We think fans of the film will be as amazed as we are at the detail and resolution in the imagery captured by cinematographer Freddie Young to compliment David Lean’s immaculate direction." From this trailer alone, it looks outstanding. David Lean's Lawrence of Arabia was first released in December of 1962, but was restored as the director's cut in 1989.
