Back at the beginning of the year in January, Sundance delivered the treat that was the comedic indie drama
Smashed starring
Mary Elizabeth Winstead (
Scott Pilgrim vs. the World) and
Aaron Paul ("Breaking Bad"). We've been waiting awhile for this one to hit theaters so audiences can finally see what all the buzz is about (read my rave review of the film and Winstead's stunning performance right here), and now the first trailer is finally here. The trailer barely grazes the surface of how much of a breakthrough performance Winstead puts in here. If the film gets some attention, she might even get an Oscar nomination.
Watch it!
Here's the first trailer for James Ponsoldt's indie
Smashed from
Yahoo:
In Smashed, a married couple (Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Aaron Paul) whose bond is built on a mutual love of alcohol gets their relationship put to the test when the wife decides to get sober. Octavia Spencer, Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally also star in the film from director James Ponsoldt who wrote the script with Susan Burke (who drew from her own experiences as a former alcoholic). The film premiered at Sundance this year, played at TIFF 2012 and hits limited theaters this fall on
October 5th. Good stuff?
