Over a year ago we got a first look at the impending
Clueless reunion between director
Amy Heckerling in
Vamps, but since then we've only gotten a 90s style poster for the romantic comedy that focuses on two vampire women in NYC as they navigate the world of dating as bloodsuckers. We were hoping this would be some kind of irreverent, tongue-in-cheek tackling of the obsession with vampire romance that has stemmed from
The Twilight Saga, but this trailer isn't like that. Basically, it's a cheesy, sweet-looking film that doesn't hit any good chords for us, and there's probably a good reason it's only getting a limited release.
Here's the first trailer for Amy Heckerling's
Vamps, found via
Film School Rejects:
Amy Heckerling (Clueless) directs Vamps from a script she wrote herself. Stacy (Krysten Ritter) and Goody (Alicia Silverstone) have been living the good night-life as two young and beautiful vampires until love gets in the picture and each has to make a choice that will jeopardize their immortality and maybe much more. Sigourney Weaver, Richard Lewis and Wallace Shawn also star in the film which gets a limited theatrical release on
November 2nd, and also arrives on Blu-Ray/DVD shelves on
November 11th. Interested?
