There's a chance I'm one of the few who still looks forward to a new installment of
Paranormal Activity after three films have expanded the mythology of the surprise hit found footage horror franchise. Now
Paranormal Activity 4 is hyping up the fact that "all the activity has led to this." However, this new trailer doesn't give much in the vein of expanding that mythology with the exception of finally promising the return of Katie and Hunter. A working print of the film just played at Fantastic Fest and our own Tim Buel says, "It’s boring, silly and does
nothing for the mythology." Personally I hope he's wrong since they seem to be incorporating some interesting elements like the Microsoft Kinect (product placement!).

The new trailer for Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman's
Paranormal Activity 4 originally from
Apple:
Paranormal Activity 4 is directed by Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman (
Catfish, Paranormal Activity 3) with a script from TV writer Zack Estrin (who worked with franchise creator Oren Peli on "The River"). An official plot hasn't been revealed at this time, so we can only speculate as to where the franchise is going from here but Paramount Pictures will send the sequel to theaters just before Halloween on
October 19th.
