Wright makes another fine addition along with Philip Seymour Hoffman as new gamemaker Plutarch Heavensbee and Sam Claflin as fan favorite character Finnick Odair. For those who haven't read the books, the real suspense comes from seeing who will survive the next Hunger Games to make it into the two-part adaptation of Mockingjay (try not to spoil it for anyone in the comments). The sequel begins as Katniss Everdeen has returned home safe after winning the 74th Annual Hunger Games along with fellow tribute Peeta Mellark. Winning means that they must turn around and leave their family and close friends, embarking on a "Victor's Tour" of the districts. Along the way Katniss senses that a rebellion is simmering, but the Capitol is still very much in control as President Snow prepares the 75th Annual Hunger Games (The Quarter Quell) - a competition that could change Panem forever. The film arrives November 22nd, 2013.

Though Tony Shalhoub was said to be up for the part of Beetee, a previous victor and repeat tribute heading back into the arena for "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire", it looks like a deal couldn't be worked out. But today Lionsgate announced that Syriana and Casino Royale star Jeffrey Wright has landed the role instead. Hailing from District 3, Beetee earns the nickname “Volts” because of his electronics expertise and becomes a valuable asset to Katniss and Peeta in the Third Quarter Quell, or 75th Hunger Games. That makes Wright the last pivotal addition to an already impressive expanded cast for the sequel. More below!
