There's nothing listed as far as Slate's take on the story, and it's also unclear whether or not this movie will blend the stories of the aforementioned individual films together or be its own entity. We'll have to wait to see. There was already a great concept in development a few years ago involving the ACME warehouse, but that one apparently wasn't going to feature any Looney Tunes characters. Why not combine those ideas?
It remains to be seen if such an old-fashioned cartoon series can successfully be rebooted in 2012. Genndy Tartakovsky is facing a similar dilemma with his Popeye reboot, and we just saw a live-action incarnation of The Three Stooges hit theaters that was poorly received critically and financially. Since Jenny Slate has only written the short film Marcel The Shell with Shoes On so far, it will be interesting to see how much she's learned working with big time comedy stars over her relatively short career and if she can transfer some of her talent to the page with characters that we all already love. Only time will tell! Anyone interested?
