The Hangover films have always been fond of cameos. Mike Tyson is a series stalwart, and though Mel Gibson and Liam Neeson were once slated to play the Bangkok tattoo artist in The Hangover Part II, that role ultimately ended up going to Alpha Dog director Nick Cassavetes, and Paul Giamatti jumped in on the fun as well. Variety now reports that John Goodman is in talks to play a bad guy in the third film, due out in theaters on May 24th, 2013. While it doesn't sound like he'll have a huge presence - his part is described as a "small role as an antagonist" - any movie is automatically better with John Goodman in it. Read on!
Goodman is mostly known for his more jovial roles, but he also excels at playing characters who walk that line between good and evil, as seen in films like O Brother, Where Art Thou?, and even flashes of The Big Lebowski. He also played an intimidating Vice Dean in the NBC series "Community" and a tattooed weapons dealer in 2007's Death Sentence, so it'll be fun to see just how far he'll go to cause trouble for the Wolfpack in their new adventure. But exactly what kind of antagonist do you think he'll end up playing? The Playlist offers that the storyline might revolve around the gang rescuing Alan from a mental hospital, so perhaps Goodman will be a warden of the asylum? What do you think?
