When Steven Spielberg recently talked about how amazing Raiders of the Lost Ark looked in 70mm on the IMAX screen, it made me giddy with anticipation in seeing one of my favorite films in a stunning format that would make it feel brand new. That's exactly what Pixar is hoping for with their 3D re-release of Finding Nemo on September 14th. In a new featurette, Pixar mastermind John Lasseter and co-directors Andrew Stanton and Lee Unkrich talk about their realization that the underwater elements which added depth and character to the undersea setting actually helped make a truly immersive 3D film.

Finding Nemo comes from those geniuses at Pixar and is co-directed by Andrew Stanton (WALL-E, A Bug's Life) and Lee Unkrich (Toy Story 3) with a script by Stanton, Bob Peterson and David Reynolds. When his son, Nemo is taken from him by a diver, Marlin the clown fish (Albert Brooks) sets off on a journey to rescue him. Together with Dory, a blue tang fish with short term memory loss voiced by Ellen DeGeneres, they set off through the oceans, whilst joining a club with Australian sharks, dodging jellyfish and catching a current with sea turtles. Finding Nemo hits theaters all over again in 3D on September 14th. Sea it in 3D this fall!
