Ellen DeGeneres Just Keeps Swimming for 'Finding Nemo' Sequel

Finding Nemo
This one is pretty much a no-brainer. Since talk show host and comedienne Ellen DeGeneres voiced what is widely considered to be the favorite character in Finding Nemo, it's no surprise to hear from Heat Vision that Disney and Pixar are in talks with her to return as the forgetful fish Dory in the recently announced Finding Nemo 2. Still no word on plot details, but the original director Andrew Stanton (seen with DeGeneres above) is returning for the sequel to the 2003 Academy Award-winning film. However, it sounds like we'll be waiting awhile before we see this one in theaters as a 2016 release date is currently projected.

The original film also returns to theaters next month for a 3D re-release, and you can bet when the sequel comes out it will be in 3D as well. Frankly, I'm still on the fence about this sequel, and while it's good to have DeGeneres back, it wouldn't been a big mistake to leave Dory out, so it's not all that surprising. DeGeneres doesn't do much in the vein of acting because of how busy she is with her daytime talk show. In fact she hasn't starred in a feature length film since Finding Nemo. Here's hoping Pixar knows what they're doing with this sequel and it's not an empty vessel like Cars 2.
